Maruti introduces Baleno in Odisha market

BHUBANESWAR, OCT 27: A day after its global launch, India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd today introduced its premium hatchback, Baleno, with a price point beginning from Rs 5,32,994 in Odisha.

The petrol variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha and CVT – of the car are priced between Rs 5,32,994  and Rs 7,14,934  while the diesel trims are priced in the range of Rs 6,53,247 to Rs 8,53,438.  The petrol automatic variant, featuring continuously variable transmission (CVT), is priced at Rs 7,14,934  (all prices ex-showroom Bhubaneswar).

Available in two engine options spread across nine variants (five petrol and four diesel) and seven colours, the Baleno uses a Suzuki-developed 1.2-litre petrol engine that returns a mileage of 21.4 kmpl and a 1.3-litre diesel engine that returns a mileage of 27.39 kmpl, thus making it one of the most fuel-efficient cars on sale in India.

It’s the only car in its segment that offers dual airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD) as standard features on both petrol and diesel variants.

Baleno is the first car to offer Apple CarPlay in India which offers the best-in-car experience for iPhone users and lets the driver control all the multimedia functions via voice commands. It helps users to get directions, make calls, send and receive messages, listen to music and audio books through this remarkable user interface.

The five-seater, five-door hatchback Baleno will be sold through the Nexa branded premium outlets of Maruti Suzuki.

“Baleno is a real global model to satisfy our customers not only in India but also across global markets,” said Sanjeev Handa, Vice President (Marketing), Maruti Suzuki while launching the car in the Capital City today.

“Baleno is a global product and we will export the car in the 100 global markets like Europe, Latin America, Peru and Japan from January 2016,” Handa said adding that with Baleno, for the first time Maruti will be exporting a model from India to Japan.
