Quarantine Policy in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: May 24:State Government has made some changes in the mandatory quarantine norms for those returning to Odisha from other parts of the country. The quarantine period for the returnees to the state will be 14 days now and it will be strictly implemented by the local authorities and district collectors.

In rural areas, returnees will undergo 7 days of mandatory institutional quarantine and after that, asymptomatic ones shall be discharged and asked to undergo home quarantine for further period of 7 days’. Also, it is said, local authorities may extend the quarantine period, if they find it necessary for containment of COVID-19 and to prevent spread of infection.

In case a quarantinee develops symptoms requiring medical attention, he/she may be shifted to COVID Care Centre or COVID Hospital for treatment.

In case of Urban areas, each person on reach to Odisha shall undergo for home quarantine for a period of 14 days as per the prescribed guidelines issued by H & FW
Department. If the returnee does not have proper quarantine facility at home, shall have to undergo institutional/ paid quarantine.

SRC also said, government officials, professionals, businessmen or any other person travelling to Odisha on Work and intending to exit within 72 hours OR

Government officials, professionals, businessmen or any other person travelling from Odisha on work and are returning to the Sate within 72 hours of departure from Odisha, will be exempted from the mandatory quarantine upon their arrival in Odisha.

Also, any returnee who has already undergone prescribed quarantine and can provide the proof shall be exempted.
