Bhubaneswar, March 5: The seizure of  some tiffin bombs in the holy town Puri on Friday has sent shock waves among the residents.  The police have seized four tiffin bombs near Gundicha Temple in Puri. The bombs were found near the Nakachana Gate of the temple.

Police have started investigations into the incident. Reports said the bombs have been defused by the bomb disposal squad.

Notably, the State has been facing tough challenges during the last few months as detection of Al Qaeda operatives, Bangladeshi infiltration, Maoists mayhem and SIMI terror module.

Terror outfits from within and outside the country are now targeting sensitive spots of the State and Puri is one of them. It might be mentioned here that earlier in 2015, a youth Ramchandran had set on fire the bogies of different trains.

During interrogation he had confessed to the NIA that he was given money by some terror outfits to create mayhem in the holy town. Number of times the Intelligence outfits have warned of the popular tourist destination, particularly the Puri Jagannath Temple being on the radar of terror outfits.

Therefore , the seizure of the tiffin bombs has increased the headache of the State police, who always claim that they are prepared for any eventuality.
